Women’s Cancer Prevention Day

Women’s Cancer Prevention Day

Today is Women’s Cancer Prevention Day.
Prevention is a serious matter, but sometimes it is not enough.
I am speaking to all women: take steps towards prevention, but put your trust in capable, dedicated doctors with real experience and a genuine focus on these diseases. Many people pretend to care about all this just to fill their now-empty offices. Be wary of the vultures. They are out there: incompetent, hungry for attention and money.

My thanks go in particular to Dr Carlo Iannace.
He needs no introduction. He combines internationally recognised professionalism with human and social sensitivity.

Soon, through the UNESCO Chair that I direct, we will launch initiatives focused on prevention education.
This can only be achieved with reliable, capable and compassionate national and regional partners. We will also seek to highlight professional – and, why not, human – shortcomings. Not everyone can be called a doctor, just as not everyone can be considered a person, or a decent person.

See you soon
